Hit FM Begins Test Transmission In Calabar

Mr Patrick Ugbe, former Commissioner for Information in Cross River State has floated the first private radio station in Cross River State tagged “Hit FM” to provide alternative voice to teeming radio listeners in the state.


Mr Ugbe said in Calabar on Wednesday that the radio station which has started test transmission is conceptualised to deliver the best music and best talk and seeks to be Africa’s premier life style radio station.


“Our Vision is to create top quality lifestyle auditory entertainment that covers key areas that people connect particularly our core target age group of fifteen to forty five years which will set us apart from the rest”.

Ugbe who is the Chief Executive officer of the station said he believes in the economy of the state which has been painstakingly recreated by past administrations in the state to make investment favourable and so had to invest in the state to maximize the opportunity provided by the economy.


“We will create an audience focused radio platform that draws in every listener through novel and unique radio programming and broadcast design that fit the status of our economy which has been reinvigorated by successive democratic governments in the state”.


The Station which is located at the Bay Café premises at the Army Junction Calabar, Ugbe said has acquired modern digital equipment coupled with young and dynamic On Air Personalities which will revolutionalise radio broadcasting in the Cross River and its environs.
