University of Calabar Gets New Vice Chancellor

Professor Zana Akpagu  has been sworn in as  the 10th Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar. The formal presentation of certificate took place at the University of Calabar Senate Chambers on Tuesday 1st December 2015.  The new Vice Chancellor assured all present at the ceremony that he would make the University visible amongst national and international academia.  The presentation of certificate was done by the Pro-Chancellor Chief (Dr) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

Professor Akpagu - a French Language Professor who taught Modern Languages and translations at the University is an alumnus of the University of Calabar and the first alumnus to be appointed as Vice Chancellor in the University's forty year history.  

He assured all at the ceremony that the welfare of both academic and non academic staff would be given priority to ensure that they put in their best since from whom much is expected much is given. 

Speaking during the presentation, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the Pro Chancellor said the peaceful and seamless manner the new Vice Chancellor emerged would give room for development and peaceful academic environment in the university.  He called on all the unions and students to support the new Vice Chancellor to ensure his success.
