Cross River Deputy Governor Visits Central Bank Calabar Explosion Scene


The Deputy Governor of Cross River State,  Prof Ivara  Esu paid a visit to the explosion scene at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Calabar branch.  The explosion took place earlier on this morning - Friday 11th March 2016 when an M2 cylinder for the cooling systems in the building exploded.  The explosion tore through the roof of the building, shattering window glasses and causing severe damage to the main building. The Deputy Governor was conducted round the office by the Branch Comptroller  - Dr Graham Kalio.





It is feared that at least 10 people lost their lives in the explosion and about 30 other CBN staff who were injured in the explosion are receiving treatment in hospital.
